About this property

Welcome to Verana

Located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta’s Centro district, Verana offers an upscale retreat featuring exotic accommodations with views over the surrounding valley. The property is set on a vertical landscape, which some guests find adds to the charm and privacy of each individual cabin, although it requires navigating stairs and paths. The openness to nature, with minimal barriers between indoors and outdoors, creates an intimate atmosphere that draws favorable comments for its tranquility and connection to the environment.

The hotel includes an outdoor pool, a dining venue, and a bar, all designed to blend with the natural setting while providing comfort and style. Guests appreciate the freshness and quality of the food, describing it as unique and thoughtfully prepared with local ingredients. Service is frequently highlighted for being personal, warm, and attentive, contributing to a relaxed yet refined experience.

Verana’s location suits visitors interested in sightseeing, recreation, and easy access to coastal activities. Nearby beaches like Yelapa, Las Caletas, and Las Animas offer opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, water sports, and dining, all within easy reach. The property also functions as an event venue, accommodating guests seeking both leisure and special occasions in a scenic environment.

While the property scores very highly for ambience and service, the hillside layout and open-air design may not suit all guests, particularly those with mobility concerns or a preference for traditional enclosed rooms. Parking and free Wi-Fi are available, though there is no fitness center on site. Travel to Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport typically requires nearly three hours by car.

Verana was by far the best vacation my husband and I have taken. Everything was unique, personal and well thought out. I was nervous about the stairs as I had just broken my pelvis a month and a half prior, but with taking my time, it was manageable. The food was delicious, fresh and local. We did some tours, and I would highly recommend booking the private beach. They pack a lovely picnic, and the solitude is to die for. My husband snorkelled and swam with the sea turtles - was on his bucket list! We will be back and will recommend!

Top notch location. Top notch service. Top notch food. My wife and I spent three nights in Tea House and jokingly tried to find things to complain about, because there truly was nothing less than exceptional! The attention to detail in both design and service is beyond anything that I have experienced elsewhere. When guests head down to breakfast, the staff freshens up your room. When guests head down to dinner, they do the same and also light many candles so you return to a beautiful, romantic setting. There must be 100 different little hangout spots…each with its own gorgeous view. The staff is personal, friendly, and the extremely helpful. The food is unique and some of the best that I’ve had anywhere! We had an amazing experience and hope to be lucky enough to return one day. The only two things to note are the vertical aspect of the property and the openness to nature in most of the “cabins.” For us, both of these things added to the experience significantly. The vertical nature is the reason for the views and adds privacy to each cabin. It also gives a bit of exercise marching up, down, and around. The openness to nature made us feel like we were camping in extreme luxury. The sounds of the ocean, insects, and animals without the barrier of walls is magical. The three nights spent here were some of my best nights of sleep in years! That said, the vertical nature would certainly be a challenge for some, and some might prefer a more traditional room. For us, it was magical and special!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Verana with two of our friends. It was our 4th time visiting Mexico and truly surpassed all of our other trips. We stayed in the secluded V-house which is about a 5 minute walk from the other houses and restaurant/ pool, but on the way up from the dock. We loved the V-House, the views were amazing and we loved being up in the trees. We ate all of our meals at their restaurant. From breakfast to snacks to dinner, everything tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were all extremely warm and accommodating. Thank you to Frederico and his brother to the very special activity days exploring the coastal area and picnic! Verana was fully booked during our stay but it still felt extremely quiet and private. I recommend bringing ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones in case there is a big party in Yelapa during your stay! (This happened only 1/5 nights on the Saturday we were there) I loved the sustainability of staying at Verana. The dishes and bar glasses were all reusable, the toiletries in the rooms were in small clay pots or wrapped in leaves. They also have filtered water dispensers everywhere- I recommend bringing a reusable water bottle :)

My husband and I stayed in the Tea House at Verana for 7 nights for my birthday in April and it was nothing short of exceptional ! If you’re looking for a very chill, quiet, romantic hotel with tons of style and gorgeous surroundings- this is for you! I had been wanting to stay here for several years and my expectations going to Verana were high and they were met on every level. The food, cocktails, service, location, massages and the charming suites were all wonderful. I can’t wait to come back! Do yourself a favor- stay here!

There is no way to describe the beauty of this place. Each room/house is spectacular in a different way. The staff is very friendly and caring. The Verana has some amazing experiences, including the fine-dining meals served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And the nearby city of Yelapa has water taxi service to their restaurants. Will 100% come back.

My wife and I spent 5 nights in Verana in March of this year and had an amazing time. We stayed in the tea house which has a beautiful view of the ocean and the bay near yelapa. We woke up every morning to the see the sun rise over the hills on the far side of the bay and to the sounds of birds chirping and singing. Staff would leave coffee and tea at the entrance to the House at about 7am each morning before we went down for breakfast. The food was excellent with the dinner menu being a set one. Even without any choice we both really enjoyed the meals every night. We did mescal tasting, dinner under the stars which were both amazing but I think our favours activity was the excursion to the private beach. All the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Verana was our first stop on a 2 week honeymoon and it was the best place we visited in Mexico. We will definitely be back.

I typically don’t leave many reviews, but I couldn’t leave a review fast enough for this magical place. Verana is exceptional in every regard. My husband and I just spent 4 nights in the Tea House for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Every detail at this hotel is very clearly well thought out. From the coffee and incredible pastries dropped at your “house” when you wake, to the design details, the views, the wildlife, and the food. Every day we were constantly just dumbfounded by this place. Each bite of food had so many levels of flavor, and each cocktail made to perfection. This is truly a foodie paradise. Everyone that we encountered here was genuinely so kind and truly cared about your experience. Especially my girls at the Host desk! I wish more places like this existed. It gave us such a profound feeling of peace that I didn’t know existed. We will be back for sure, and I cannot wait until that day. Bravo Verana. You’re incredible.

Absolutely incredible team at Verana. I photographed a wedding there last night and was blown away by the beauty and hospitality of the people here. Juju, Justin, Federico, and Chantal were ANGELS. Literally the sweetest people who were so kind and wonderful. The beauty of this place is unreal and worth the trek up. The food was incredible, each little house was gorgeous, and the pool was unreal. Thank you all so much for everything. I hope to see you back here again! I hope you all know how special and wonderful you are.
